JPII Welcomes Doug Smith as Associate Director for Recruiting and Advancement

Doug Smith recently joined JPII as the Associate Director of Recruiting and Advancement. In this new role, he will be working with prospective students and their families as well as individuals who are interested in supporting the school with their time, talent, and treasure.

Smith brings more than 17 years of marketing and communications experience, most recently as a product marketing specialist with Hyster-Yale Group. Prior to Hyster-Yale, Smith served in various communications and fundraising roles over 15 years with the Alumni Association and Annual Giving at ECU.

“I was drawn to this position because of the opportunity to work with people who will have a lasting impact on JPII,” said Smith. “Whether its potential students who are looking to combine their faith with their education and go on to accomplish amazing things, or alumni, parents, and community members who can help further our mission with their support, I look forward to helping grow the JPII family.”

Doug and his wife Stephanie have two children: Hannah (who will be a freshman at JPII next year) and Ryan.

Smith believes that JPII is full of opportunity and adds “there’s no value in being the best kept secret!” If you know a current high school student or rising 9th grader, please encourage them to consider JPII. Smith is happy to host tours and shadow days so prospective students and families can see first-hand what JPII has to offer.
