Job Posting: Substitute Educator
John Paul II Catholic High School in Greenville, NC is accepting résumés and letters of interest for a substitute educator.
When a teacher has a planned or unplanned absence, this vital role gives our educators the comfort of knowing that student learning continues while they have to be away from the classroom. When all teachers are on campus, we love for this position to pitch in where needed and contribute to special projects.
Hours per week: 40 (full-time)
Professionals in this Role:
- Execute lesson plans consistent with teacher guidelines and school curriculum
- Establish an orderly classroom environment and provide a positive learning experience
- Are confident and proficient in giving instruction
- Compile reports for teachers that include student attendance, lesson-plan progress, disciplinary actions, and positive developments
- Are flexible and patient in scheduling
- Communicate teacher coverage with all faculty and staff on a daily basis
- Possess superb verbal and written communication skills
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum level of education: bachelor’s degree (preferably in education)
- Successful completion of background check
- Minimum amount of work experience
- Years of related work experience: at least 1-3 years
- Area of related work experience: teaching in a high school environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with high school students
- Experience planning and preparing engaging and content-rich lab experiences
- Proficient with technology specifically Apple products
