Head Volleyball Coach Trayce Wilson-Ruffin to Become Full-Time Employee on July 1

Trayce Wilson-Ruffin joined JPII as head volleyball coach this year and led the Lady Saints to a conference championship with a 13-1 record, dropping only two sets all year. We are excited to have Trayce return as our volleyball coach next year and join the staff as a full-time employee coordinating our senior internship program. Senior internships provide our students professional experience with local businesses by translating their coursework into applied practice in field connection, relevant practiced skill-sets, and career exploration. In short, they gain experience that cannot be found in a traditional classroom. This unique opportunity often affirms an intended career choice and provides additional motivation as the student begins study at the collegiate level.

In addition to coaching volleyball and coordinating senior internships, Trayce will assist our faculty as a substitute educator and grow our intramural sports program. He also coaches at East Carolina Junior Volleyball Club (ECJVC) which he has done since November of 2015. Next month he will receive his bachelor of science in sports studies with a minor in business administration from East Carolina University.
