Youngs Physical Therapy and Sports Performance to Provide Athletic Training Services

JPII is excited to announce a partnership with Youngs Physical Therapy & Sports Performance to provide athletic training services. The sports medicine team, which includes a team physician, athletic trainers, and a physical therapist, will:

  • conduct concussion vital signs assessments
  • ensure all preparticipation physical evaluations are current
  • provide home game coverage for all contact sports and practice coverage for the football team
  • be available to all athletes in the event of an injury/illness
  • decide whether or not student-athletes are ready for competition

Mary Leach will be the on-site athletic trainer throughout the 2019-2020 athletic season. She was hired as an athletic trainer at Youngs Physical Therapy and Sports Performance in December of 2017.

Prior to working with JPII, Mary provided athletic training services ranging from home game coverage to injury prevention and management at The Oakwood School. She has also assisted in the organization and coverage of a variety of outreach events such as the Bo Run, USA Rugby, USA Gymnastics, and Beast of the East.

Prior to working at Youngs Physical Therapy and Sports Performance, Mary spent a year-and-a-half in Pennsylvania working for a health network as an athletic trainer in a middle and high school setting.

A native of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, Mary earned a bachelor of science in athletic training from East Carolina University in 2016 and a master of science in athletic training from East Stroudsburg University (PA) in 2017.
