Job Posting: Girls Basketball Head Coach

John Paul II Catholic High School invites applications from those who are interested in leading our girls basketball program. The Lady Saints reached 20 wins for the first time in school history in the 2021-2022 season. 

The successful candidate will:

  • articulate a vision for a successful basketball program that aligns with the core principles of a Catholic school;
  • understand and emphasize the importance of academics and spirituality when it comes to achieving on-court success; 
  • provide training, direction, encouragement, motivation, and advice to prepare student-athletes for competition;
  • lead the program in all phases including practice planning, conditioning, strategy and tactics, off-season workouts, and choosing and leading a staff; and 
  • embrace the responsibility of being a positive role model/mentor for students and as a representative of John Paul II Catholic High School. 

JPII is a member of the NCISAA and competes in the Coastal Plain Independent Conference (CPIC). Head coaches report directly to the Director of Athletics.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Three or more years of successful coaching experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to teach sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic, and responsibility to the team
